The games shown in this teaser are Quantum Break, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Ashes of Singularity, Forza Motorsport 6, Just Cause 3, etc. Microsoft says,”DirectX 12 is a ground-breaking Microsoft technology that gives game developers the ability to harness the full capabilities of a PC’s GPU(s) and raise the bar on graphic fidelity and immersive gameplay.”
According to the teaser, Microsoft assures that DX 12 will provide up to 20% increase in GPU performance and 50% improvement in CPU usage while providing reduced latency, unparalleled fidelity and smoother framerates.
It should be noted that you will need to run Windows 10 to use DX 12. While it is unsure how many will even consider shifting to Windows 10 just to take advantage of DX 12, a recent report points out that 34.01% of Steam users are on Windows 10, while 34.21% are using Windows 7 64 bit. There has been an increase of 1.24% in Windows 10 adoption, judging only by Steam userbase’s stats.
